Practices Begin: No weekly practice for 4U-6U age groups.  30 minute practice prior to game on Saturdays

Games Begin: March 30, Games End: May 18

Players in this age group receive 60 minutes on fun soccer activities designed to peak the interest and excitement of the players. The session ends with a small sided game, playing 3 versus 3, where the players are introduced to playing with teammates in a game situation. Games and practices are on Saturdays at Stenger Soccer Complex.Sessions are coordinated by a member of the EDGE staff.

Players in these age groups play 3 versus 3, which is the beginning phase of our small sided developmental soccer program. We have designed this program to allow the players to get several touches on the ball in a fun and exciting environment. Both the field and goals are smaller to allow the players to have success. We do not keep track of scores in this age group, which keeps the emphasis on the fun and learning of the game.

 

  • AGE Group Objectives: Introduction to the game, team, and ball mastery.
  • Size of Ball: Size 3
  • Cleats Permitted: Cleats are optional
  • Length of Activity on the Field: 60 minutes on fun soccer activities including small sided games
Uniforms:
Home team wears Blue Jerseys, Blue Shorts, & Blue Socks.
Visiting team wears White Jersey, Blue Shorts, & White Socks.
All coaches will ensure each player receives 50% playing time in each game, providing the player meets the team’s practice requirements.
Real Colorado EDGE does not keep track of game scores in these age groups and, discourages coaches and parents from emphasizing winning and losing. The emphasis should be on the players’ participation and enjoyment of the game.
5U- 6U Boys and Girls Recreational (Birth Year 2014-2013)

  • Length of Game: 2 X 20 minute halves.
  • Practice: 1/2 hour preceding each game
    • Optional bi-weekly training led by EDGE Coaching Staff
Uniforms:
Home team wears Blue Jerseys, Blue Shorts, & Blue Socks.
Visiting team wears White Jersey, Blue Shorts, & White Socks.
All coaches will ensure each player receives 50% playing time in each game, providing the player meets the team’s practice requirements.

7U Boys and Girls Teams in this age group play 5 versus 5 with a goalkeeper, which is one of the beginning phases of our small sided developmental soccer program. We have designed this program to allow the players to get several touches on the ball in a fun and exciting environment. Both the field and goals are smaller to allow the players to have success. We do not keep track of scores in this age group, which keeps the emphasis on the fun and learning of the game.  Practices take place 1 day per week in a local park and ALL games are held on Saturdays at Stenger Complex.  Volunteer coaches are assigned to each team

 

  • AGE Group Objectives: Introduction to the game, team, and ball mastery.
  • Max. Roster Size: 10 Players.
  • GoalKeepers: Goalkeepers are introduced!
  • Size of Ball: Size 3.
  • Cleats Permitted: Cleats are optional.
  • Practice: 1 day per week
    • Optional bi-weekly practice offered by EDGE Coaching staff
  • Length of Game: 2 x 20 Minute Halves.
Uniforms:

Both the field and the goals are smaller than full-sided fields to allow the players to have success. We continue to keep the emphasis on the fun and learning of the game. Teams play games on Saturdays at Stenger Complex and practice two times per week.  1 training per week is held at Stenger Complex directed by the Real Colorado EDGE Staff. Volunteer coaches are assigned to each team, and EDGE staff training are included throughout the season.

AGE Group Objectives: Introduction to positions and Ball Mastery.
  • Max. Roster Size: 11 Players
  • GoalKeepers: Different color jersey
  • Size of Ball: Size 3
  • Practice: 1 hour, 2 times per week at Stenger Soccer Complex.
    • 1 practice per week is led by EDGE Coaching Staff
  • Cleats Permitted: Cleats are optional
  • Length of Game: 2 X 20 Minute Halves
  • Offside Rule: Conditional
  • Fouls and Misconduct: Per FIFA “Laws of the Game”
Uniforms:
Home team wears Blue Jerseys, Blue Shorts, & Blue Socks.
Visiting team wears White Jersey, Blue Shorts, & White Socks.

About Real Colorado EDGE Recreational Soccer

Real Colorado EDGE Soccer Club offers Recreational soccer leagues for all players in the 4 and Under through 19 and Under age groups. Our emphasis is on Skill Growth, Participation, and Enjoyment of the Game.

  • Small-sided games from 4 and Under through 19 and Under

Starting at our 9 and Under Age Group, we offer different competition levels.  The 2 levels offered are an “in-house” league played in Arvada and the surrounding communities or the Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) state league played primarily in the Denver metro area.

Philosophy
Real Colorado EDGE is dedicated to providing a FUN, but challenging soccer environment for the children in our program. The emphasis is placed on FUN and player development, through an age-appropriate training program. Each child is challenged at a level which is appropriate for their stage of development. The EDGE prides itself in offering the most enjoyable and rewarding soccer experience for our players, coaches, referees, and families in the Arvada and surrounding communities.
Real Colorado EDGE begins offering Recreational programs for players starting at the 4 and Under age group and is an option for players all the way through the 19 and Under age group.

Starting at our 9 and Under League Program, we have different levels of competition, some of which are tailored toward the Advanced (competitive) program.

At Real Colorado EDGE we haveRecreational soccer leagues for all players in the 4U – 19U age groups. For details about each age group, click the links at the bottom of this page –  ‘Age Group Specifics.’

Colorado Soccer Association Age Groups

Colorado Soccer Association defines age groups based on the following general rules:

Age groups are determined by the year a player was born.  Click here for the Age group Chart

Age group “labels” are the age of a player followed by AND UNDER.  For example 8 and Under or 8U

Seasonal Year runs from August 1st to July 31st of the next year.

How do I register online?
  • If you are an existing player or a family that has had at least one or more player in the program, you will start by logging into our secure league management system.  You can Log-In Here or  access the login on our HOME page, at the top, labeled MEMBER LOG-IN.  You will type in your home phone number, and then your four digit PIN number. Once in, this will be your family home page.  From here, click on the register button- the next screen will bring up all your players names, with a register button under each.  Click on the register button, and follow the remaining steps.
  • If you have never had a player play for our club, you can setup a new account to begin your registration HERE or by clicking on “Register Now” tab on the HOME page which is located at the top. This is where you will put in your player’s information, and it will allow you to set up a login.  Once completed, you will need to log into the system as stated above.
  • If you prefer, you can register in person at the Real CO EDGE office, located at 4955 Miller Street #201, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.  Please see our club info tab at the top of the website for office hours.
How much does it cost to play?
  • 4 and Under: $70 for the season
  • 5 and Under- 6 and Under: $85 for the season
  • 7 and Under: $100 for the season
  • 8 and Under: $110 for the season
What about the games?

All of our home games for the 4U-19U developmental programs are played at Stenger Soccer Complex, which is located at 58th and Quail in Arvada.  The complex is quite large, and the field layout changes each season, so be sure to print out a field map (located under the club info tab at the left side of our website).  Each team will get a minimum of 8 games per season.

Practices?
  • 8U (2011 birth year) teams practice twice a week at Stenger or Long Lake Ranch
  • 7U (2012 birth year) teams practice once a week at Stenger
  • 5U-6U (2013 and 2014 birth year) teams practice 1/2 hour prior to their game on Saturday at Stenger.
  • 4U (2015 birth year) players play various FUN developmental exercises on Saturdays at Stenger for 30 minutes and then play a game for the the remainder of the hour.  EDGE full-time coaching staff will lead the hour along with the assistance of other coaches.
Where do I buy developmental uniforms?
  • Our uniform supplier is Soccer Stop (8831 N Harlan St, Westminster, CO 80031) and you can stop by during their normal business hours to try sizes on and purchase.  For 4U-8U players they wear blue and white, you will need the reversible jersey, black shorts, and a pair of blue, and pair of white socks.  9U and up wear red and white jerseys, you will need to purchase the separate red and white Jerseys, black shorts, and a pair of black, and a pair of red socks.

**PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY AS THERE HAS BEEN SOME CHANGES WITH OUR UNIFORMS**

9U and older Recreational players will need the following items: red game jersey, white game jersey, black game shorts, black game socks, and red game socks.  If your player already has the white game jersey from the blue and white kit, this item has not changed and you can continue to wear this. 9U-12U use a size 4 soccer ball, shin guards, and cleats. 13U and up use a size 5 soccer ball, shin guards, and cleats.

4U through 8U recreational players will continue to wear the reversible blue and white game jerseys, black shorts, blue socks, and white socks until they are a 9U player, at which point they will transition into the red and white jerseys.  You will also need shin guards, and a size 3 soccer ball.  Soccer cleats are recommend for 7U and 8U players.

-TOP Soccer players (EDGE’s special needs soccer program) will stay in their current uniform, uniforms will be distributed at your first practice on September 8th.
