EDGE Soccer History
The Arvada Soccer Association dba Real Colorado EDGE Soccer Club has been a pivotal part of the Arvada community since 1969 serving boys and girls from ages 3 through adulthood. Annually, the club has 2,500 registered players playing at various levels, from developmental to competitive to our TOPSoccer program for kids with special needs. The Arvada Soccer Association is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
During the first few years, we played and practiced in local parks. In 1976, we got permission from Reese Stenger to plant some grass on his unused farm land at 58th and Quail in Arvada. Over the next two decades, the small patch of grass expanded into a 60 acre soccer park that we named ‘Stenger Soccer Complex’.
In the mid 80’s, we joined the new state association CSYSA (Colorado State Youth Soccer Association) which is now CSA (Colorado Soccer Association) and through that membership we are affiliated with USSoccer, USSF (United States Soccer Federation) and FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association).
Real Colorado - Real Colorado EDGE Partnership
In January 2014, the club added more ways to grow our players, coaches, and programs by establishing a partnership with Real Colorado Soccer. As a Real Colorado partner, EDGE has taken steps toward offering our players, coaches and families new tools that can position our programs among the best in the nation. Real Colorado Soccer is consistently recognized as one of the Top 20 youth soccer clubs in America through its time-tested player and coaching development programs. Aligning EDGE as a partner of Real Colorado Soccer allows for access to a wider variety of resources, which will have a direct impact on our players, coaches and programs. The strategic working relationship between REAL Colorado Soccer and Real Colorado EDGE serves as a means to integrate and enhance all areas of our club.
United States Development Academy and ECNL
USSDA (boys) and ECNL (girls) are leagues that consist of teams from around the country and ONLY play in a national league. Teams do not play in the CSA league or State Cup. Due to Real Colorado EDGE’s affiliation with Real Colorado Soccer, EDGE players are tracked and monitored during their progression through EDGE. Players may be requested to play on a USSDA or ECNL for Real Colorado Soccer Club. Selection is based on both clubs’ Directors recommendations.
There are several Real Colorado EDGE players, both boys and girls, who have played and/or currently play for Real Colorado US Development Academy and ECNL which is a testament to EDGE’s proven track record of developing players both on and off of the field.
